“At the Nicene Council, an important church meeting in the 4th century A.D., of the 318 delegates attending, fewer than 12 had not lost an eye or lost a hand or did not limp on a leg lamed by torture for their Christian faith”- Vance Havner.

A ship in a harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for -Unknown

I looked for Thee alone, but met my glance
The iron dreadful Four who rule our breath,
Masters of falsehood, Kings of ignorance,
High sovereign Lords of suffering and death.

Whence came these formidable autarchies,
From what inconscient blind Infinity, –
Cold propagandists of a million lies,
Dictators of a world of agony?

Or was it Thou who bor’st the fourfold mask?
Enveloping Thy timeless heart in Time,
Thou has bound the spirit to its cosmic task,
To find Thee veiled in this tremendous mime.

Thou, only Thou, canst raise the invisible siege,
O Light, O deathless Joy, O rapturous Peace!

Evading the shade!!

Posted: February 3, 2011 in Uncategorized

Two travelers, seeking respite from the searing heat of the midday sun, took shelter under a leafy tree. They soon felt cool and refreshed.

“What sort of tree is this? Does it produce edible fruits?” asked one of the men to the other.

“It’s a plane tree,” said his companion. “Don’t waste your time looking for fruits. It produces neither edible fruits nor good wood. It’s one of the most useless trees around.”

“How can you say that when you’re enjoying my shade at this very moment?” snapped the tree.

We might have raised this question several times in our lives in different circumstances; but the least do we remember the shades of love, care, fellowship, even a smile that made us happy in our lives. We owe differently to different people. Nevertheless we owe in everything to God. Let us be thankful to our God for the manifold ways in which He has guidedusthroughoutourlives.

Psalms 42:4; “These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go with the multitude, leading the procession to the house of God, with shouts of joy and thanksgiving among the festive throng”.

God creates everything and everybody for a purpose. Seek His guidance that we may nourish each other and thereby respect each and everyone of Gods creation.

Once again……. let us be reminded about Gods manifold blessings and mercies that keep us moving. In Him do we trust
