Rev. Dharmaraj Rasalm has been declared the new bishop of CSI South Kerala Diocese.
CSI moderator Most.Rev Vasantha Kumar made the announcement in Chennai. Rev Rasalam will be consecrated as Bishop on July 23 at the Mateer Memorial Church, LMS, Thiruvananthapuram.
Rasalam, 55, served as the vice-president of the South Kerala Diocese and Presbyter of the CSI Cathedral. He hails from Vizhinjam. After his schooling in Vizhinjam and Venganoor, Rasalam graduated in History from the Kerala University. He also did his graduation and post-graduation in Theological Studies at the Senate of Serampore College. He is doing his doctoral reserach in Theology.
Rev Rasalam is married to Shirly John, a teacher. The couple has a daughter Sherin S Rasalam, who is doing her MBBS and a son Shinoy S Rasalam, who is in Class X. Rasalam succeeds Rt.Rev J W Gladstone who was also the CSI Moderator.
